A experimental short film on the immigration stories of Asian Americans at the Claremont Colleges. Centering on their stories and words, the film celebrates heterogeneity in Asian American experiences and examines the language used to discuss immigration.
Final project for ART 148: Video Art at Scripps College
This film explores the dualities of Asian American and Pacific Islander immigration narratives through building and creating a space for hurting, processing, and healing. It highlights the duality between the depersonalization of rhetoric around immigration vs. the vibrancy & resilience of immigrants and their roots in the country they now call home. Immigration narratives are crucial to contextualizing self-identity and a sense of place and belonging. Through storytelling, we empower our community and begin to understand the historical trajectory of AAPI immigration in the U.S.
